Demand

Ghana, Rwanda, Other African markets as procurement data becomes available

Priority sectors

  • Mining and industrial procurement
  • Energy and electrical equipment
  • Healthcare and laboratory equipment
  • Water infrastructure
  • Logistics and warehousing

Evidence available

  • Contract-award data from Ghana's public procurement system (GHANEPS), collected daily.
  • Contract awards from Rwanda's public procurement system, imported from the Open Contracting data registry.
  • Australian government contract awards (AusTender), collected every six hours, used to find capable Australian suppliers.
  • An Australian supplier register checked against the Australian Business Register.

How companies are verified

  • Australian suppliers: the ABN is looked up at the Australian Business Register and must be active.
  • The company's own published pages are read; a third-party listing does not count as evidence.
  • Names are screened against the Australian consolidated sanctions list before an introduction.
  • A supplier that cannot be confirmed is marked unverified or withheld, and is not presented as verified.

Current limitations

  • African coverage is limited to markets with published procurement data: today, mainly Ghana and Rwanda.
  • Every opportunity today is anticipated procurement derived from contract awards. No open tenders are collected yet.
  • Only a minority of supplier records have completed verification; the rest are candidates under review.
  • Additional procurement portals are registered but not yet collected.
  • The sanctions list is loaded manually from the government source and must be kept current.
